Purpose:
To recognize and honor those individuals
from Hollis Brookline High School who have made significant contributions
through service, participation, or involvement in athletics in the high
school. The Hollis Brookline High School Hall of Fame will include inductees
from Hollis High School, Hollis Area High School, and Hollis Brookline High
School.
Hall of Fame committee:

The committee will be comprised of at
least seven (7) members including representation from the Principal,
Athletic Director, one (1) staff member, and four (4) community members.

Annually, the committee shall select
from its membership a Chairperson and Secretary.
Meetings:

All meetings shall be held by call from
the Chairperson of the Committee.

All committee Members shall be notified
at least seven (7) days in advance of a meeting; the business of the meeting
is to be noted; minutes are to be taken and provided to all committee
members; the committee shall establish its own quorum for the conduct of
business.
Screening Committee:
The Screening Committee will be composed
of the entire Hall of Fame Committee.
Qualifications for Election to
Membership into the Hollis Brookline Hall of Fame:
Eligible Candidates:
Athletes:
Athletes who have graduated from Hollis Brookline High School, Hollis High
School, or Hollis Area High School and have made a significant contribution to
their team and school on the basis of either skill, ability, sportsmanship
and/or scholarship.
Coaches:
Those who have made a significant contribution to the individual development
of student/athletes and/or the success and recognition of the team and/or
school and its athletic programs.
Teachers, Administrators, and Others:
Those educators and/or community members who have
made significant contributions to the athletic and/or academic programs.
Eligibility Factors:
Players: Must have graduated with good
academic standings; must have been graduated five years prior to
consideration.
Coaches: Who have or are presently
coaching in the school system in the sport in which consideration for election
is being made.
Teachers, Administrators and Others:
Cannot be considered while a member of the Hall of Fame Committee or any of
its subcommittees.
Nomination of Candidates:
Nominations for consideration of
candidates may be made to the screening committee by anyone. The Committee
will endeavor to have representation from all eras and will attempt to secure
adequate representation in all athletic areas.
Selection:
The Committee shall select from the pool
of eligible candidates and consider those from each classification. The
Committee shall then select at large candidates. A point system will be used
to select the finalists to the Hall of Fame.
Recognition of Induction:
Those selected for induction into the
Hollis Brookline High School Hall of Fame will be recognized in an appropriate
manner at a date, time and place to be designated by the Hall of Fame
Committee.
The method of recognition, plaque, trophy,
certificate, etc. shall be by the Hall of Fame Committee and be consistent in
all such recognition.
